Hannover v St. Pauli – 2. Bundeslia – 17:30

Kicking off Wednesday’s double, I have Hannover beating St. Pauli at home.

Despite the reduced impact of home advantage, Hannover have still been impressive at HDI Arena – earning seven points from their three home games since the break, including a great win against high-flying Heidenheim.

As for St. Pauli, they’ve been very ordinary indeed since the league’s resumption, winning just one game against out-of-form Aue.

St. Pauli have really struggled for goals this season (only Dynamo Dresden have scored fewer), and odds-against for a Hannover victory on Wednesday looks just a little too good to turn down.

Hannover - 1pt @ 6/5

Bayer Leverkusen v Koln – Bundesliga – 19:30

Peter Bosz will be bitterly disappointed with his side as they could only muster a draw against Schalke on Sunday, squandering the opportunity to put genuine daylight between themselves and Borussia Monchengladbach in the race for the top four.

However, I’m backing them to rally and beat Koln to further their chances of a Champions League finish.

Markus Gisdol has done what he set out to do and kept Koln (barring a miracle from one of the bottom three) in the Bundesliga. However, they’re winless since the resumption, and while they’ve shown many glimpses of real quality, defensively Koln have been atrocious, and it now feels like they are simply sleepwalking towards the end of the season.

Leverkusen, packed with so many goals, will feel this Koln defence is tailor-made for them, and I believe they’ll wind up handsome winners.

Leverkusen - 1pt @ 4/9
