Middlesbrough v QPR - Championship - 14:00

Despite conceding a gut-wrenching last-minute winner against relegation rivals Hull on Thursday, I’m backing Middlesbrough to beat out-of-form QPR on Sunday.

Neil Warnock isn’t known as the master firefighter for no reason, and he’ll be fully aware of his side’s capabilities of beating QPR.

Mark Warburton’s men have lost all three games since returning to action (scoring just one goal), while Boro did win their first game under Warnock against Stoke – another relegation rival.

At this price, Boro to grind out a crucial win against a side pretty much on the beach, putting their Hull disappointment behind them, looks a fair bet.

Gil Vicente v Rio Ave - Primeira Liga - 17:00

Finally, I’m backing Rio Ave to beat Gil Vicente in Portugal.

Rio Ave have won three of their last four games, losing only to Benfica to an 87th minute winner – with eight men on the pitch come full time.

Indeed, Rio Ave games aren’t short of reds cards, with seven dished out in their five games post-restart, so they’re certainly an entertaining side to follow.

Gil Vicente have been much less impressive since the restart—losing four of their five games—and with Rio Ave in with a very real chance of securing European football, I believe they have the sufficient drive to get the job done on Sunday.
