Football expert Ryan Elliott has a 6/1 Europa League treble for Wednesday's fixtures.
FC Kobenhavn v Istanbul Basaksehir - 17:55
My first Wednesday selection is an Istanbul Basaksehir win or draw against FC Copenhagen.
The Turkish side won the first-leg 1-0, and they’ve already beaten Wolfsberger and Borussia Monchengladbach on the road in Europe this season.
Furthermore, they’ve only lost two of their last 14 games, with one being in a dead-rubber at the end of the domestic season after they’d already wrapped the league title up.
Copenhagen are winless in three home games in this competition against Dynamo Kiev, Malmo and Celtic, and therefore I’m backing the visitors to get the job done and secure the win or draw they need to qualify for the next round.
Shakhtar Donetsk v Wolfsburg - 17:55
Next up, at a really big 2/1, I’m backing Wolfsburg to beat Shakhtar Donetsk away.
Shakhtar won the first-leg 2-1 in Germany, but Wolfsburg’s away form is much better than their home form. The Bundesliga side won just two of their last 13 league games at Volkswagen Arena, while on the road they won six of their final eight.
They are also unbeaten in their four away games in this competition, most recently beating Malmo 3-0.
The Ukranians have only one home win in Europe this season (losing twice), while they’re unbeaten in their four away games, so a Wolfsburg win at 2/1 looks awfully tempting.
Inter v Getafe - 20:00
My final pick is for Inter to beat Getafe in a one-off clash.
After ending the Serie A season just one point behind Juventus, Antonio Conte’s side will harbour very realistic hopes of winning this competition, and come into this game on the back of three consecutive wins against Genoa, Napoli and Atalanta; they’ve also kept five clean sheets from their last six games.
Getafe had a much less impressive end to their season, with just one win from their last 11 league games, and only two points from their last six league games should result in 9/13 for an Inter win being a steal.
