Netherlands v Poland - 19:45

While they’re a shade on the short side, I’m still happy backing Netherlands to beat Poland.

The exit of Ronald Koeman will no doubt have caused some sort of upheaval, but I’m still confident that a squad so packed with quality (who also made the final of this competition last year) will be able to conduct themselves as normal.

Furthermore, Poland are without the talismanic Robert Lewandowski, and that’s a significant hole to fill.

The Dutch beat both France and Germany at home in the last campaign, while Poland finished rock bottom of their group behind Portugal and Italy, so I’m fairly confident about the hosts’ chances.

Netherlands - 1pt @ 1/2

Romania v Northern Ireland - 19:45

Next up, I’m backing Romania to beat Northern Ireland at odds-against.

Michael O’Neill’s departure marked the end of an era for Northern Ireland, and considering they lost all four games to Bosnia and Austria in the last Nations League campaign, I do fear it’ll be a while before they hit the heights they managed under their previous gaffer.

Romania went unbeaten in their group with Serbia, Montenegro and Lithuania, and two very impressive draws with the Serbians—who are undoubtedly better than Northern Ireland—shows they’re a tough nut to crack.

With home advantage also on Romania’s side, taking the 5/4 for them to steal victory looks the way to go here.

Romania - 1pt @ 5/4

Scotland v Israel - 19:45

Finally, I fancy Scotland to beat Israel at home.

While these two have a much more important Euro qualifier on the horizon, this is still an important game with which to lay a marker, and it’s fair to say these two sides know each other well.

In the previous Nations League iteration, Scotland and Israel registered one win apiece against each other, although the Scots will still feel as if this is a game they must win as it’s at home.

Furthermore, I do believe Scotland’s price makes them backable. Only Belgium, Russia and Portugal have beaten them at home since March 2018, and while there are no fans in attendance, the lack of travelling will still play a part.
