Czech Republic v Scotland - 19:45

This is certainly an interesting start: I’m backing Scotland to beat Czech Republic on the road.

With the Czechs’ preparations for this thrown into absolute chaos by Covid-19 issues, they’ve been forced to name an entirely new squad for their game with Scotland, and with so many uncapped players expected to line-up for the hosts, this is a great chance for Steve Clarke’s men.

Scotland, who are unbeaten in four games with three wins, will fancy their chances against such an inexperienced side, and I’m confident they get the job done comfortably, despite their 1-1 draw with Israel last time out.

Scotland - 1pt @ 8/15

Austria v Romania - 19:45

My next selection is for Austria to beat Romania.

Austria beat a pretty strong Norway side 2-1 away from home in their last outing—a very good result—while Romania could only manage a 1-1 home draw with Northern Ireland.

The Austrians narrowly missed out on top spot in their League B group in the last Nations League tournament, while Romania finished behind Serbia in League C, and it’s clear that Austria are by far the more balanced and talented outfit.

Beating Norway on the road is no mean feat these days, and I reckon they follow this up against Romania.

Austria - 1pt @ 7/10

Albania v Lithuania - 19:45

My final pick is for Albania to beat Lithuania with a -1 handicap.

Albania secured a fantastic result in their opener – beating a very handy Belarus side 2-0 on the road. They’ll also be buoyed by the fact that Lithuania fell 2-0 at home to Kazakhstan, and for this reason odds-against for the -1 home handicap is tempting.

In the last Nations League tournament, Lithuania finished with 0 points from their League C group containing Serbia, Romania and Montenegro, while Albania finished bottom of their League C group with Scotland and Israel.

However, the relative performances of the two sides in the most recent tournament thus far suggests the hosts are heavy favourites.
