Fulham v Arsenal - 12:30

The Premier League is back! To start the new campaign off, I have a juicy treble, with my first selection being Arsenal to beat Fulham with a -1 handicap at Craven Cottage.

Mikel Arteta is really seeing his side start to click, with the FA Cup and Community Shield already secured, which makes this a very, very tough start for Fulham in their first game back in the top-tier.

Arsenal hammered Fulham 4-1 and 5-1 last time they were in the Premier League, and while I’m expecting Scott Parker to somewhat tighten his side up in this respect, I do fear for them at the other end of the pitch.

The Gunners will be desperate for a fast start to the season, and 13/8 for them to win by two goals or more looks like tasty value.

Crystal Palace v Southampton - 15:00

Next up, I have under 2.5 goals in Crystal Palace v Southampton.

Only 29% of Palace games last season saw over two goals (at home the number was a paltry 16%) and knowing Roy Hodgson, little will change this time around.

The Saints’ matches were a little more goal-rich, but I’m still not convinced they’ll be able to hit the ground running in their first game back against a Palace side who generally suck the life out of matches.

Five of the last six games between these two have seen under 2.5 goals, and I’m expecting no different on Saturday.

West Ham v Newcastle - 20:00

Finally, I have both teams scoring in West Ham v Newcastle.

While Newcastle matches aren’t always goal-rich thrillers, we did see nine goals fly in during the two games between the sides last season, and I wouldn’t be surprise to see something similar.

Both teams scored in 63% of West Ham’s home games last season, and considering Newcastle are without the excellent Martin Dubravka, I’d expect this to be a pretty entertaining game at both ends of the pitch.
