Saturday's football betting tips include a tantalising 9/1 EFL acca chosen by expert Ryan Elliott.
Charlton vs Doncaster - League One
Ryan Elliott brings you weekly football predictions, tips and analysis on oddschecker.
Charlton were excellent in their season opener, beating Crewe 2-0 on the road, and while they fell convincingly to West Ham in the Carabao Cup, I believe they have a side so galvanised by Lee Bowler that they’re able to compete above their means in this league.
They’re a pretty good price to beat a Doncaster side who were really inconsistent last season, and I believe it might take Darren Moore just a little more time to get the most out of his squad.
Donny also drew 1-1 at home to MK Dons and for me, Saturday’s task is a tougher one.
Hull vs Crewe - League One
Hull kicked their League One season off in good style, beating a very decent Gillingham side 2-0 on the road, and a penalty shootout win over Leeds in the Carabao Cup will see them head into this clash with Crewe full of confidence.
As for the newly promoted visitors, they’ll certainly be wary of the difference in quality between the two squads, and while I don’t see them as major relegation candidates this season, a trip to the KCOM still looks a daunting one.
There was no disgrace losing their opener to Charlton, but backing the Tigers at odds-against looks the way to go in this one.
Newport County vs Barrow - 15:00
Finally, I fancy Newport to beat Barrow at home.
The away side, newly promoted, only managed a 1-1 home draw against a Stevenage outfit who stunk the league out last year, while Newport also drew 1-1 away at Scunthorpe.
Rodney Parade has traditionally been a really tough place for opposition teams to go, and Michael Flynn will be confident his side have the tools to make their home ground a fortress once again, starting with a win on Saturday at what looks a very handy price.
