Bayern Munich v Schalke 04 - Bundesliga - 19:30

After their dominant end to last season, culminating in a treble-clinching Champions League victory, I’m backing Bayern to pick up right from where they left off, beating a shambolic Schalke side with a -2 handicap.

David Wagner’s men ended last season in free-fall, failing to win any of their last 16 matches, while Bayern won their last 13 league games.

The experienced Vedad Ibisevic has been brought in to solve Schalke’s issues in front of goal, as well as Goncalo Paciencia from Frankfurt, but these are the sort of signings that’ll take time to gel into this team, and judging by how poor Wagner’s men were last campaign, this will take time.

Bayern will want to start like a freight train, and a comprehensive win over this dreadful Schalke outfit would be the perfect way to kick the new campaign off.

Getafe v Osasuna - La Liga - 20:00

Finally, I have under 2.5 goals in Getafe vs Osasuna.

To put it mildly, this isn’t a game that often provides us with goals. The last two meetings between the teams have ended goalless, while only two of their last 11 league games have seen three goals scored or more.

It’s looking like a low-key start to the season for these two sides, with goals at a premium.
