Saturday's football betting tips include a tantalising 12/1 EFL acca chosen by expert Ryan Elliott.
Fleetwood v AFC Wimbledon - League One
Ryan Elliott brings you weekly football predictions, tips and analysis on oddschecker.
Fleetwood have had a mixed start to their new League One campaign: beating Burton at home before narrowly losing to an excellent Peterborough side.
However, I’m backing them to beat AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, who have drawn their opening two games against newly-promoted sides in Northampton and Plymouth.
Joey Barton’s men have won their last three games against Wimbledon, and a repeat is all I can see this weekend.
Ipswich v Rochdale - League One
Rochdale may have valiantly secured a draw against Portsmouth in their last outing, but I don’t have high hopes for them against Ipswich.
Town have won their opening two games without conceding, while Dale (who have seen an exodus of their best players), lost their opener to newly-promoted Swindon.
This will be closely-fought and competitive, but the quality of the Suffolk side will tell.
Cheltenham v Grimsby - League Two
After losing their opener to Morecambe, Cheltenham Town roared back last weekend by beating well-fancied Tranmere 3-0 on the road, showing us just why they’re well in promotion contention.
I’m backing them to beat Grimsby at home, who have lost back-to-back matches.
Ian Holloway’s men are yet to score this season, and considering Cheltenham had by far the best defence in League Two last season, backing the Robins at evens looks the path to take here.
Southend v Morecambe - League Two
Finally, I have what looks a great value pick: Morecambe to beat Southend.
The Shrimpers have been a shambles for a while now, and with so many financial issues behind the scenes, I really fear for them. Furthermore, they’ve comfortably lost their opening two games against newly-promoted Harrogate and Carlisle.
Morecambe kicked-off with an excellent win against a good Cheltenham side, and while they were then thumped by Cambridge, backing them at this price against a rudderless Southend side could still prove a shrewd move.
Yes, they were demolished against Premier League Newcastle in the EFL Cup, and while this was a little on the harrowing side, I still believe they’re stronger than Southend, so I’m sticking with this selection.
