Man City v Brighton – Phil Foden Over 1.5 Shots
Phil Foden's shooting statistics make him an appealing candidate to register at least two attempts when Manchester City host Brighton in the EFL Cup.
The England international has recorded 16 shots across 506 minutes in the Premier League and Champions League this season, averaging approximately 2.85 attempts per 90 minutes.
Crucially, Foden has registered at least two shots in all five appearances in which he has played 75 minutes or more.
He recorded four attempts in City's 5-1 Champions League victory over AEK Athens and another three against Ipswich in the Premier League earlier this month.
City are also averaging 15.8 shots per home league game, providing plenty of attacking opportunities for their creative players.
With Erling Haaland expected to be rested and Foden tipped for a starting role, the 26-year-old could take on additional attacking responsibility against Brighton.
The main consideration is his playing time, but if he starts and receives substantial minutes, two or more shots looks achievable.
Liverpool v Chelsea – Liverpool Over 1.5 Team Goals
Liverpool's recent scoring form provides a strong starting point for backing them to find the net at least twice against Chelsea.
The Reds have scored two or more goals in each of their last four matches across all competitions, netting 14 times during that sequence.
Those results include a 6-3 Champions League victory over LASK Linz, a 4-3 win against Villarreal and Premier League victories over Brentford (2-1) and Brighton (2-0).
Chelsea, meanwhile, have shown significant defensive vulnerabilities this season, tied third for most goals conceded in the Premier League (15).
Their defensive problems were evident again during Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham, when goalkeeper Mike Penders scored an own goal.
With Chelsea struggling defensively and Liverpool entering the contest on a four-match winning streak, another multi-goal performance from the hosts is a realistic prospect.
Both managers could rotate for this EFL Cup encounter, although Liverpool's recent attacking output makes the over 1.5 team-goals market worth considering.
Genoa v Juventus – Both Teams to Score (Yes)
Both teams to score offers an interesting option when Genoa welcome Juventus to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Genoa have scored in each of their last four Serie A home matches, including victories over Fiorentina and Venezia in their most recent two.
However, their defensive record remains a concern, having conceded eight goals across five home league fixtures this season.
That should give Juventus opportunities to extend their impressive scoring record on the road.
The Bianconeri have found the net in 12 of their last 13 competitive away matches, scoring 20 goals across those 12 fixtures.
They also arrive following a 2-0 victory at Lecce, although the hosts managed 16 shots in that contest, demonstrating that Juventus can still allow opponents opportunities.
Genoa's recent home performances suggest they have the attacking confidence to contribute, while Juventus possess sufficient quality to exploit the hosts' defensive weaknesses.
Juventus have kept clean sheets in their last five league meetings with Genoa, so this selection is not without risk. Nevertheless, the home side's improved scoring form and Juventus' consistency in away matches make both teams to score an interesting proposition at around 6/5.
Monza v Napoli – Over 2.5 Total Goals
Monza's extraordinary goals record makes over 2.5 goals an attractive statistical angle for their Serie A meeting with Napoli.
Seven of Monza's opening eight league fixtures have produced at least three goals, including all three of their matches at home.
The hosts have scored 15 goals and conceded 18, meaning their Serie A encounters have averaged an impressive 4.13 goals per game.
Their last five league matches have produced 21 goals, with recent results including a 3-2 defeat to Torino, a 4-0 victory over Cagliari and a 3-1 loss against Lazio.
Napoli arrive following two remarkably high-scoring encounters of their own.
Massimiliano Allegri's side beat Bodø/Glimt 4-3 in the Champions League before drawing 3-3 with Roma in Serie A, meaning their last two matches have featured 13 goals.
Scott McTominay has scored four goals across those two fixtures, while Napoli have conceded six.
With Monza averaging more than two goals conceded per league game and both teams demonstrating considerable attacking potential, there is a strong statistical case for another contest featuring at least three goals.
