Wednesday's tantalising treble is a 7/1 poke!
Lokomotiv Moscow v Juventus - 17:55
I’ve gone on record before saying I don’t believe Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus are a particularly impressive side. They may be top of Serie A, but they’re starting to make a habit of squeezing through matches rather than trouncing teams like they used to; for reference, just one of their nine league wins this season have been by a margin of over one goal.
That said, I’m backing them to beat Lokomotiv Moscow away from home and under 3.5 goals to be scored. Juve got out of jail in the home game against the Russians—coming from behind to win 2-1—and a similarly close victory looks on the cards here.
Lokomotiv have lost two of their last four home games in the Russian Premier League, so while Juventus should be winning this, it’ll still be fairly nip-and-tuck.
Bayer Leverkusen v Atletico Madrid - 20:00
Atletico Madrid are always a solid bet in the under 2.5 goals market, and I’m confident their clash with Bayer Leverkusen will fall under this umbrella.
Under 2.5 goals have been scored in Atleti’s last 10 matches—including a 1-0 win in this fixture a fortnight ago--and it’s hard to envisage anything different on Wednesday.
Atleti will do what Atleti do best: frustrate, frustrate, frustrate. This one may be decided by just the single goal.
PSG v Club Brugge - 20:00
Finally, I have PSG beating Club Brugge with a -2 handicap at home.
PSG have won all three of their Champions League matches without conceding this season—including a devastating 5-0 away win against the Belgians—and a similarly emphatic victory looks on the cards once again.
Five of PSG’s last six home wins have been by margins of three goals or more, and with that in mind it’s hard to give Brugge much of a prayer.
