Leg 1: Liverpool to Win @ 1/2

Liverpool are our pick to get the accumulator underway with a home victory over Villarreal, with recent form and their record against the Spanish side providing plenty of encouragement.

The Reds have won four of their last five games and are currently unbeaten in this season's Champions League. They have also won their last three meetings with Villarreal, giving them a positive head-to-head record ahead of the latest encounter.

Anfield should be a major factor. Liverpool are generally a different proposition on home soil, where the intensity of their pressing and the quality of their attacking options can make life difficult for visiting teams. With Alexander Isak back in contention, they also have another dangerous forward available to strengthen their attacking options.

Villarreal will need to produce a disciplined performance to keep Liverpool quiet, particularly if the hosts start quickly and put the visitors under pressure early on.

Leg 2: PSG vs Barcelona – Over 3.5 Total Goals @ 4/9

This fixture has all the ingredients for a goal-filled encounter, with both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona showing a consistent tendency to produce high-scoring games.

PSG have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four matches, while over 2.5 goals has landed in eight of their last nine games. Barcelona's record is even more striking, with over 2.5 goals landing in each of their last nine matches.

The both-teams-to-score market also points towards an entertaining contest. Both teams have scored in eight of PSG's last nine games and six of Barcelona's last seven, suggesting that neither side has found it easy to keep opponents off the scoresheet.

For those looking at a higher goal line, the statistics remain encouraging. Over 3.5 goals has landed in two of the last three head-to-head meetings between the sides, as well as in PSG's last three matches and five of Barcelona's last six.

With both teams possessing the attacking quality to create chances and defensive records that leave room for improvement, this could become an open contest with opportunities at both ends.

The main risk is that one side manages to control the game and restrict the other's attacking threat. However, given the recent scoring trends, backing at least four goals looks a reasonable option at 4/9.

Leg 3: Manchester City to Win to Nil @ 4/5

Manchester City are backed to secure a victory without conceding against AEK Athens, with their European pedigree and recent clean-sheet record making this an appealing selection.

City opened their Champions League campaign with a convincing 2-0 victory over Porto, demonstrating their ability to combine attacking quality with defensive discipline. The win also provides a useful reference point ahead of another European fixture in which they will be expected to control possession and create the majority of the chances.

The statistics strengthen the case for the clean-sheet market. Five of City's last seven matches have seen them win without conceding, while five of their last six victories have also come with a clean sheet.

There is, however, one concern. City have conceded six goals across their last two games, suggesting that their defence has not been entirely watertight in recent outings.

That makes this selection more dependent on City tightening up at the back. AEK will need to take advantage of any defensive mistakes if they are to threaten, but City should have enough quality to dictate the tempo and limit the visitors' opportunities.

Leg 4: Porto vs PSV – Porto to Win & Both Teams to Score @ 15/8

Porto are our selection to win a potentially entertaining encounter with PSV, although the visitors are backed to find the net in what could be a competitive contest.

The combined market has landed in four of Porto's last five matches, while all five of their last five victories have also seen both teams score. Those results point towards a team capable of winning games while still allowing opponents opportunities to get on the scoresheet.

Porto's defensive record provides further encouragement for the goals element of this bet. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last seven matches, making a PSV goal a realistic possibility even if the Portuguese side ultimately secure the victory.

PSV's recent matches point in a similar direction. Both teams have scored in eight of their last 10 games, suggesting that the Dutch side are frequently involved in contests where neither defence manages to shut out the opposition.

That combination of trends makes Porto to win and both teams to score an interesting alternative to the straightforward home-win market. Porto have demonstrated that they can get the job done even when conceding, while PSV's attacking threat gives them a chance of contributing to the scoreline.

Leg 5: Borussia Dortmund to Win to Nil @ 6/4

Borussia Dortmund complete our five-fold accumulator with a selection to beat FC Sabah without conceding, as the German side look to impose their quality on the contest.

Dortmund have been defensively solid in recent weeks, conceding just three goals across their last five matches and keeping three clean sheets during that period. Three of their last five victories have also come without conceding, providing a positive recent trend for this particular market.

Their defensive organisation will be important here, especially if they can establish control early and prevent Sabah from building any attacking momentum.

Sabah's opening European outing offers a further indication of the challenge ahead. They suffered a 4-0 defeat against Manchester United on matchday one, struggling to contain opponents with considerable attacking quality.

Dortmund will expect to have the upper hand in possession and create the better opportunities. If they can maintain their recent defensive standards, Sabah may find it difficult to generate enough clear chances to threaten the German side's clean sheet.
