Football betting expert Tom Love has two tips for Friday's highly anticipated Europa League final between Sevilla and Inter.
The Europa League final is upon us and it’s two of the well fancied teams meeting in Cologne on Friday night.
Both sides have been superb in this competition, and it’s shown on the data as well as the straight up results. Sevilla are masters of this tournament, having won it five times this Millennium. Even though they’ve gone through different managers their record remains impeccable and all credit to them.
They are up against a very good Inter Milan side though and bookmakers have the Italians as favourites to lift the trophy. The Nerazzuri disappeared off the European radar for a while since their treble winning season under Jose Mourinho, but the club are now well backed financially and have splashed the cash on decent recruits. Namely Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian front man has smashed in 33 goals this season and has been especially impressive in this competition. He bullies defenders physically and likes to roll the ball past them but there’s more to his game than that. Intelligence in making space for himself and his quality finishing ability make him a force to be reckoned with and the Sevilla centre half duo of Diego Carlos and Jules Koundé will have a tough time dealing with the former Manchester United striker.
Lukaku can be backed at 6/4 to notch anytime and that appeals. He bagged two in the semi-final and has scored for fun in the Europa League. I’m surprised he isn’t a touch shorter.
I am expecting a well balanced game though. Both sides are evenly matched and I would be shocked if either team ran away with it. At the prices, the draw stands out as the biggest price of the three ever so slightly.
Tension will be high and finals usually mean a risk averse nature from teams. It may even go all the way to penalties which is available to back at 5/1. I’ll take the 5/2 on the draw after 90 minutes though, it should be an even contest between two excellent sides.
