On Sunday, we saw the first of the League Two play-off semi-final second-legs between Mansfield and Newport go all the way to penalties, where the Welsh side eventually prevailed. It was one of the most entertaining goalless draws I’ve watched in a while, and I’m hoping Forest Green v Tranmere can be equally as enthralling,

Micky Mellon’s side did win the first-leg against Forest Green 1-0, but considering Gavin Gunning was shown a straight red card for a moment of pure stupidity after just 15 minutes, the Tranmere boss will be disappointed to head to The New Lawn with only a one-goal advantage.

Monday’s hosts have won just eight times at home all season, but my Best Bet is for them to beat Tranmere in this second-leg, which will at least guarantee them extra-time.

Tranmere’s away form isn’t too sparking either, and with just one goal from their last four matches on the road, this tie is far from over, particularly as Forest Green have scored in 12 of their last 13 home games

The last couple of meetings between Forest Green and Tranmere at The New Lawn have ended in 3-1 home victories, which is why 6/5 for a home win does seem like a good price.

Moreover, despite a generally ropey season on home soil, Forest Green have still conceded only 20 times (the fourth-best home defence in League Two), which sets them up nicely against a Tranmere outfit who have struggled for goals on the road in recent weeks.

Don’t be surprised if this ends 1-0 to Forest Green – forcing extra-time.
