West Ham v Liverpool – Sunday 14:15, Sky Sports 1

West Ham ended Spurs’ title hopes last weekend with a narrow 1-0 victory, and they’re now unbeaten in five as they seek a top-half finish. Four of those games saw fewer than two goals, and they’ve shown themselves to be difficult to break down by conceding just twice across their unbeaten run and drawing at the break in each of the last four.

Liverpool could only manage a draw at home to Southampton last time out, James Milner’s penalty miss proving costly with a top four spot not yet secured. It was the second time in their last three where they’ve slipped up as they lost to Palace in their previous home game, though they’ve won their last three on the road against Stoke, West Brom and Watford, even if those victories were all by a one goal margin.

Prior to their victory over Spurs, the Hammers had lost eight out of 10 matches against top-six opposition this season, though they did manage to score in seven of these games. However, at a price of 1.73 we think Liverpool are a touch short, especially as Klopp’s side have contrived to lose at Burnley, Bournemouth, Hull and Leicester on the road this term. Instead, we’re backing both teams to score, with Liverpool keeping just two clean sheets from 11 matches against teams between 9th and 14th, and both teams finding the net in eight of these.
