Manchester United v Liverpool will always be a massive game. Two huge footballing cities, two huge fanbases and two huge clubs – this is a rivalry which captures the imagination of millions around the world.

That said, the disparity between the two sides has not been this large in a very, very long time. While Liverpool have won their last 17 Premier League matches---and now find themselves eight points above title rivals Manchester City—United have won just four of their last 17 in the league. I’ll repeat that: Manchester United Football Club have won four of their last 17 Premier League football matches.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t likely to outfox Jurgen Klopp in the tactical battle on Sunday, while injuries to Paul Pogba, and in particular David de Gea, have tipped the balance even more in Liverpool’s favour (as if they needed it…).

If United could choose one player not to get injured ahead of this game, it would be de Gea. To make matters worse, Joel Matip and Alisson are expected to be fit – when it rains, it pours.

There are arguments to be made for this to be the best Liverpool side we’ve seen in the Premier League era, and the worst United side, and we are going to see this displayed in full force on Sunday.

There’s not a whole lot more to say, really. It’s inconceivable that Liverpool drop points against this United side, and 4/6 for an away win (which was a frankly ridiculous 11/10 last week), should be snapped up. That is still serious value.

Liverpool - 3pts @ 5/7

Another decent-looking bit of value is for Sadio Mane to score at any time.

The Senegalese goal machine has netted four times in his last five Premier League matches, and scored against United at Anfield last season – contributing to the downfall of Jose Mourinho.

As Liverpool’s chief goal threat these days, 13/8 looks like a healthy price for him to score at any time against a side riddled with injuries and woe.
