Leeds vs West Ham - 20:00
Friday night football comes from West Yorkshire as Leeds look to get just their second home win of the season. It’s surprising to see the Whites not get the rub of the green at Elland Road so far, it may because teams sit deeper when they play as the away side and that means that there’s a dearth of room for the hosts to manoeuvre into, a key facet of their play.
West Ham will no doubt play with many men behind the ball, try play up to Seb Haller and get Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals running off the big man. David Moyes has set his side up with a strict shape off the ball, in a deep block and happy to concede possession, in fact, only Sheffield United average less possession than the Hammers on the road. It could be attack vs defence for the majority which will make it an intriguing tactical battle of wits on the pitch and in the dugout.
Where is the value?

Given the fluid formation of Leeds, Kalvin Phillips splits the centre halves when coming deep to get on the ball which in turn pushes Liam Cooper left and Robin Koch right. Unfortunately for Marcelo Bielsa both Koch and Diego Llorente are ruled out meaning Luke Ayling will slot into a central role.
Cooper though often ends up isolating in 1 on 1 situations when the opposition are in transition and given his lack of pace he can be happy to take a yellow card. The former Chesterfield man has racked up 3 cautions already this season and the direct Bowen could cause him some real problems. I’m surprised we can get quotes of 11/2 on Cooper to be carded here and I’m willing to play a point on that.
Both teams to score did appeal but the price did not, I do think Leeds are a bit short given they’re below West Ham in the table and are struggling at home. The East Londoners have gone to Spurs and Leicester and come back with results so they won’t fear the trip north. At the prices the draw stands out at 14/5.
