Manchester City have still failed to hit top gear as they failed to turn their dominance into 3 points against West Brom, a game where they were as short as 1/12 to win. They’ve been lacking spark, creativity and decisiveness in the final third and have a difficult trip to St Mary’s to take on a Southampton side in decent nick.
Where is the value?
| Southampton | Draw | Man City | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best Odds | 31/5 | 19/5 | 27/50 |

The Saints have lost just 1 of their last 9 games and deserved a win at Arsenal midweek. Let’s not forgot that they also beat City in this fixture towards the end of last season. They have little to fear and with the talismanic Danny Ings back in the fold, they have enough to be competitive at the very least against a City side that aren’t on song.
We can back the hosts with a +1.25 start on the asian handicap at a smidgen above 4/5 and that makes plenty of appeal. Here we would make profit if Saints won, drew or lost by one. It will be a full stakes win if they avoid defeat but we also garner a half stakes victory if they lose by exactly one goal.
