England are being backed to go out of the World Cup in the group stages by punters from across the UK.
Out of all of the potential results of the tournament, punters across the country believe that Gareth Southgate’s side won’t play a single knock-out game.
In total, 48% of all bets have been placed on the Three Lions exiting the tournament one stage earlier than their exit at Euro 2016.
England are 4/1 to go out following their ties with Belgium, Panama and Tunisia, but that hasn’t put off bettors from piling on.
The most likely result, according to the bookies is a last 16 exit for the Three Lions at 2/1, quarter final is 5/2, semi-final is 5/1 and runner up is 14/1.
If you think England can go all the way, Southgate’s side are 20/1 to lift the Jules Rimet trophy.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “The pessimism from the British public looks to be in full flow ahead of the World Cup in Russia, which isn’t a surprise considering England’s last outing in a major tournament in 2016.
“However, the bar is being set so low by punters that Kane and co aren’t even expected to make it out of a group with relative minnows Panama and Tunisia.
“Bookies, on the other hand, have England down as going out in the last 16 as the most likely circumstance.
