The DP World Tour moves on to South Africa this week and the Jack Nicklaus designed Pecanwood is the host for the latest conundrum. The course is long at nearly 7700 yards although a fair bit of elevation eases that length a touch. Nevertheless, the Par 72 is a wide-open layout with plenty of room off the tee and I see no reason why it won't play into the hands of some of the longest here this week. This is the first time we've seen this course on the main tour so there is always an element of doubt when approaching the event.

Antoine Rozner at 66/1 (Six places)

Antoine Rozner has been suffering from a torrid time with his game this season but notably took a few steps forward last week in Kenya. 32nd on approach and 23rd from tee to green was a solid effort and only a cold putter stopped him in his tracks from posting a better finish than 34th. His final round of 68 may be a sign that a big performance is on the horizon. I'm particularly keen to back players here who have won better events and are showing an upside lately. Rozner fits that bill having won stronger events in Dubai and Qatar. The long track should play right into his hands as he can gain plenty on the field distance wise. A dangerous operator should he manage to get near the lead throughout the weekend.

Hennie Du Plessis at 100/1 (Seven places)

Hennie Du Plessis looks worth a bet at triple figures back in his native South Africa. His approach play was in good nick last week in Kenya but probably suffered with the more claustrophobic nature of the course. This wide-open layout should play more into his strengths, hitting it long. His two best efforts last year were in November and December when finishing seventh at the Joburg Open and third at the SA Open. Both are decent events but of course, he will need to up his game a little more to win here with the field stronger than those two renewals late last year. Nevertheless, he is improving and this venue should suit with his best efforts all coming in South Africa.

Jorge Campillo at 80/1 (Six places)

I believe this will be a tee to green slog-fest and it'd be foolish to ignore the upturn in Jorge Campillo's game last week. Already a winner of an event with a greater strength of field the Spaniard could be on the path to returning to some of his better form. His tee to green game has been all over the place this season but worth noting he ranked 5th from the tee last week and 3rd from tee to green. That is a vast improvement for someone who easily has the capability of winning an event of this standard. He putted quite poorly last week but managed a top 15 finish which was helped greatly bis third-round score of 65. He should benefit from the altitude and if his long game continues to trend in the right direction he may be a steal around the 80/1 mark.

Yannik Paul at 80/1 (Seven places)

Yannik Paul was one of the most consistent performers on the Challenge Tour last year with a remarkable 9 top 11 finishes having not had playing status at the start of the term. He is currently comfortably outperforming his brother Jeremy who plays on the Korn Ferry Tour. We have seen plenty in recent years come from the Korn Ferry Tour to the PGA Tour with no status and hold their own on the main stage, notably Spieth and Zalatoris. This is nowhere near the same quality but the German may just do something similar having had no status on the Challenge Tour and only invites, to fight his way onto the main tour and start performing well. His best effort to date came in South Africa finishing 8th in Joburg and with his tee to green game very solid in recent weeks I'm hopeful an upturn in fortune on the greens can result in Yannik making the frame throughout the weekend.
