Xander Schauffele still needs a halve to secure qualification from the group as if he's beat by Hoge then the winner of Wise v Davis will face off with the group leader in a playoff late tonight.

I fully expect Xander to take care of business though and I'm surprised he isn't a fair bit shorter against Hoge who is 0-2 so far this week. Schauffele will be mindful of the lottery of a playoff and I'd be confident he will oblige once again to make it three wins from three.

JJ Spaun has been very impressive so far this week and he has taken to the venue like a duck to water. Huge pressure is on the outsider of the group today though with defeat again MIn Woo Lee meaning he'd face off in a two man playoff at least, and possibly three.

The third could be Matt Fitzpatrick and with still plenty to play for following a heavy defeat on day one the Englishman is worth supporting against an out of sorts Sahith Theegala today. Fitzpatrick shot 6 under the card yesterday through 17 holes and will be aware that the pressure the group leader is under this afternoon could still give him a fair chance of progressing. Theegala has nothing to play for bar pride and Fitzpatrick should give himself every chance if there's a slip up from Spaun.

14:20 Maronk vs Bezuidenhout

Adrian Meronk vs Christiaan Bezuidenhout - Adrian Meronk

Having something to play for is key today and although Meronk is relying on Kitayama to overturn Finau for a chance of a playoff I believe he is slight value to edge out Bezuidenhout in his 3rd game. Meronk ranks 18th in the field thus far in SG through two rounds here whilst the South African ranks 41st.

The Polish sensation sits 55th in the world and he'll be conscious of getting inside the top 50 and these WGC's are a perfect way for him to climb the ladder. It's an outside chance that he progresses but I'm happy to back odds against that he gives himself the best chance by defeating Bezuidenhout later today.
