The Masters

I doubt we've ever seen so many of the world's best golfers relentlessly beat Augusta up and there was certainly only one winner. Rahm blew the roof off with a 7 under par 65 that included a messy start on the greens with a four putt double bogey.

His tee to green game was off the charts and if he continues in that manner he will win doing handstands. Anyhow, we live in hope that our pre tournament selections continue their good start with Hovland, Day and Schauffele all firing. Rory didn't find much whilst Thomas' 2 under par round of 70 was one of the most impressive of the day in my eyes.

He played reasonably poor stuff but was determined not to get off to the same start as last year, and he couldn't have gotten into the clubhouse in any better score than what he did. The rain is on the way, and it's anyone's guess as to how that will impact the coming days.

Gary Woodland at 100/1 (Five Places)

Gary Woodland is worth adding to our outright portfolio at 100/1. As we've known for quite some time his ball striking has been in fine shape with his short game continually letting him down. Back in 2021 he equalled the lowest front 9 score at the time going out in 6 under par.

He knows how to score around here and would be a real danger should his short game hold up. He was 6th on approach in round one and 16th on the greens. Tied 6th heading into day two it is astonishing to think we can still get triple figures.

Such is the quality on the front end of this leaderboard the market is giving little respect to lesser names. Woodland has done it all before though and is hitting his irons superbly well.
