BMW PGA Championship - First Round Leader

Two weeks out from the Ryder Cup in Rome, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth welcomes the full European team to Surrey.

Joost Luiten First Round Leader at 66/1 (Six Places)

Joost Luiten holed nothing of note last week when we were on him at the K Club where he managed 12th place ranking 3rd in strokes gained tee to green. It really could have been better for the Dutchman and he can consider himself unlucky not to have had a better week on the greens.

His long game has been in really good nick this last month or so and he can be backed to go well here in round 1 with an early tee time alongside fellow Continental Europeans Yannik Paul and Thorbjorn Olesen.

In Luiten's last seven appearances here he has managed 1st, 5th and 7th placed finishes for the opening 18 holes. Given the quality of his game right now he looks a solid round one leader option at 66/1.

Justin Rose First Round Leader at 40/1 (Six Places)

I mentioned in my outright preview that I was keen on Justin Rose and I'm happy to get involved in some first round leader action with him here at Wentworth. During his last two events he has fired in the odd spectacular round which makes him a good proposition to do similar here. His 3rd round of 61 at Southwind was the best of the day by four shots.

His 65 in round 2 of the BMW at Olympia Fields was only beaten by one other, Xander Schauffele. In 17 appearances here at Wentworth he has round 1 finishes of 5-7-Win-3-4-8-4. Three of those came in his last four efforts here. He loves this place and can put his best foot forward with a late tee time on Thursday as it doesn't look there is any bias in the tee times on day one.
