Niall Lyons picks out a team of four heading into this week's British Masters at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, England.

Course - The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, England. The Belfry held this event back in 2007 and 2008 before taking a long break and returning as host in 2021 and this is now the 6th year on the spin it has held this fine event. The DPWT now starts to come to the fore with a mouth watering couple of months ahead with some fine fields.
Tyyrell Hatton makes the trip this time around and this event begins to get the field it deserves. It's not easy to hit greens around here and scrambling comes to the forefront as a big part of the jigsaw here. Noren was 11th in Scrambling when winning last year. Hillier was 5th in that department when winning in 2023 whilst the two previous winners Olesen and Bland ranked 4th and 1st in that stat respectively. Norgaard and Lawrence were 25th and 40th in scrambling but three tucked in behind them were 5th, 8th and 14th. Eichenreid, Green Eagle, Wentworth and other general parkland golf courses are all a relevant pointer.

Keita Nakajima at 25/1 (WIN)
Keita Nakajima will have plenty to play for in the fall series on the PGA Tour but there are rewards to be had on the DPWT and he'll be looking to play well to secure his playing rights in the final two events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He currently sits 69th in the standings with the top 70 through to Abu Dhabi and the top 50 heading to Dubai. This event represents a big chance as the quality of field will be ramping up considerably from here until then. He is certainly playing well enough to make a big enough impact in the final few months. 3rd in the Scottish Open was a really fine effort then he played well through the bag for a top 20 at the Rocket Classic. He played great stuff in challenging conditions last week in Scotland and being on the bubble for the top 70 I expect him to keep the pedal down. Tight parkland courses suit the Japanese star and having finished 4th here last year should be licking his lips at the prospect of taking this track on once again. 6th at Green Eagle is another relevant result I think we'll see a continuation of good form on this tour now dropped in class.
Casey Jarvis at 40/1 (Eight Places)
Casey Jarvis will be headed to the PGA Tour next season and it looks like he has been a little too easily dismissed by the layers this week. The South African has had a stellar year with wins coming in Kenya and South Africa and the win at Karen in particular looks relevant to this week. He sits 4th in the Race to Dubai standings and having been a 14/1 poke last week in Scotland looks to have drifted to a big number on a test that is probably more suitable. The course in Aberdeenshire played particularly tough on the first couple of days last week and I wouldn't overreact to any bad scores there. Instead look to his 51st place the prior start on the PGA Tour where he played very well only to have a bad week on the greens. 21st in the Scottish Open then 6th at Birkdale were fine efforts. Jarvis is more than capable of bouncing back from that missed cut last week and anything of 33/1 or above looks worth taking.
Dan Brown at 45/1 (Eight Places)
Dan Brown has continued what is a fine links record with top 20s at Birkdale then again last week at the Nexo Championship. His ball striking was in good shape at the Scottish Open where he missed the cut and on his two subsequent starts his long game has delivered once again. It seems like a no brainer to back him once again at close to double the price he was last week. Links tests are where plenty of punters will focus with Dan Brown but it is worth noting his parkland form on courses of this nature is equally as impressive. A victory at Eichenreid as well as top 10s here at the Brabazon course and at the K Club mean he has every chance of picking up where he left off these last few weeks and going well once again. He has shown he isn't afraid of fine efforts in better fields than this so he makes the staking plan at anything above 33/1.
Romain Langasque at 70/1 (Eight Places)
Romain Langasque finished 7th last time out at the Danish Golf Championship and a better week on the greens could have seen him go a lot closer to winning that event. It was a very impressive tee to green performance and a repeat of that would see him go really well here this week. We saw him implement his chippy driver from the tee and with the importance of keeping it in play around this Brabazon course we could be seeing him use that tool once again. It is a course he has gone well on before having finished in the top 10 twice in 2022 and 2023. A victory at Celtic Manor is far from irrelevant also. Add a top 5 and a top 10 at Eichenreid and we have someone very capable of playing well on these types of tests. He could benefit from skipping last weeks gruelling test and having made his last ten cuts on the trot looks to be a nice price to continue a fairly decent run of parkland golf in the last handful of years.
