Niall Lyons has made a good start to the Masters and has two shouts for today's match ups.
Days 1 and 2 passed us by with nothing really worthy of investing in but today is a shade better and we'll have a couple of bets. Our 3 outright bets made the cut and all have lively chances. Couples leads the Top Senior market cruising along and has already secured our place money.
LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN has made a habit of starting slow in majors over the past year or so and this years Masters was no different. A first round 77 was followed yesterday by a 1 under par 71. His opponent today Steve Stricker is going along absolutely fine for a Senior at the same score of 4 over through 2 rounds here. However, good weather is on the horizon and the course will be getting firmer and firmer as time progresses. The greens will become a devilish task to hold when approaching and there is no doubt while scores will be better due to the nature of the weather, the intricacies of the course will play havoc. Oosthuizen has tonnes more of ability in the tank at this stage of the game and I fancy him strongly to overcome Stricker this evening.
Another worth a small play is MARTIN KAYMER. He is out playing his expectations here as Augusta is not an ideal fit for this mans game. He has battled very well over the first two days with a tremendous round on Friday. The firm conditions will suit the German just as it did when he won the US Open at Pinehurst. He has a high enough ball flight to land the ball in the spots he wants and he will be delighted to be around for the weekend at Augusta. Matsuyama is having a somewhat quiet Masters thus far and his game doesn't look quite up to scratch. To be fair this is a two ball that could go to the wire, but certainly one which could go either way. I think it will be a very close match and the prices don't exactly mirror my thoughts. I'm more than prepared to have a small bet on the double major winner in this group
