Michael Smyth takes a look at the BresBet Steel City Cup semi-final from Sheffield.
15:09 Sheffield
The first semi-final of the BresBet Steel City Cup from Sheffield at 3.09 can go to Sunderland raider UNTOLD EURO from T2. Lighty raced in recent months, the March 2022 son of Droopys Sydney showed plenty of pace in the first-round heats when finishing second.
He would have come on plenty for that run and, with a smart exit this afternoon, he could be the value against the odds-on favourite in T1.
Bouncing Monarch is a worthy favourite but looks short around the 8/11 mark. If Untold Euro can clear that rival into the corner and kick a couple clear, it's race on.
3.09 Sheffield– UNTOLD EURO (T2) - 1 Point win at 4/1
Steel City Cup - 19th October
The second semi-final of the BresBet Steel City Cup at 3.27 will see recent Click Competitions East Anglian Derby winner Romeo Steel line up from T1.
The Patrick Janssens-trained railer bolted up in the first-round heats, clocking 28.73 following a 4.19 sectional.

The third and final selection is ROMEO ABILITY who looks well-drawn in the third semi-final of the BresBet Steel City Cup in T1.
The Patrick Janssens-trained October 2023 son of Romeo Magico is running at the top of his game at the moment with five wins from his last six runs.
The sole defeat was in the BGBF Two-year-old Produce Stakes final at Swindon when Romeo Ability finished second.
Today, with a decent draw to work from, he can hold his pitch into the corner and then kick for home off the second bend. Chelms Bear will be flying home from T3 and rates as the danger.
3.47 Sheffield – ROMEO ABILITY (T1) - 1 Point win at 9/4
