KAYF ADVENTURE (NAP) (best price 5-4) looks a horse of some promise and that potential should be realised off what appears to be a fairly lenient handicap mark of just 123. Off the track for the thick end of two years, Philip Hobbs’ inmate made a bright start on his first start back into action when finishing a creditable third to subsequent Grade 2 hurdle winner and Neptune favourite, Neon Wolf, in a maiden hurdle riddled with quality at Exeter back in January and with Harry Fry’s inmate now rated 148, it just shows how potentially well handicapped this lightly-raced six-year-old looks in comparison. Dispelling any possible bounce theories with a powerful galloping display on his latest outing at Fontwell, the third horse home, King Uther (beaten 17 lengths) has gone on to boost that particular form line since, and with heavy ground unlikely to be a hindrance given his overall profile, the Kayf Tara gelding should be capable of landing a race of this nature before going to better things.

Given Tennesse Waltz’s run style, he’s well worth a try over tonight’s trip, but preference is for real 6f specialist CAPPADOCIA (best price 11-1) who ran quite well from a bad draw here last week. Prior to that creditable effort, John Feane’s charge posted another smart effort here when runner-up to the in-form Guanabara Bay and a repeat of that level of form from a much more favourable draw this evening should see him bang on the premises.

FREE STATE (best price 11-2) ran a commendable race from a poor draw over tonight’s C&D last time and he looks to have a decent chance of adding to his previous victory here providing he break cleanly (can be a bit sluggish in the early stages) and get himself in a better position to strike down the straight this time around. Finding himself detached at the back of the field 14 days ago, John Feane’s inmate did really well to work his way into third at the line and given that he was essentially trying to give the rapidly-improving Ligeti and healthy head start, the overall performance deserves upgrading.
