3.40 KELSO

SLANELOUGH (best price 8-1) is just beginning to get his act together and he can reward solid each-way support at a track where he’s shown a nice bit of form in the past. Runner-up in a point-to-point, Rose Dobbin’s charge didn’t cut much ice on his first two starts over hurdles but his run behind the useful Reiver’s Lad over today’s course indicated there could be brighter times ahead for the five-year-old gelding. Occupying the same position in a decent contest last time out at Musselburgh, the son of Westerner cemented those views and with trip and ground to suit, a big run looks on the cards.

A change of scenery has clearly brought about an improved outlook to BALINABOOLA(NAP) (best price 5-1) and he can strike again following an impressive success at Wexford three days ago. Off the boil since finishing second over today’s C&D back in August, the Brian Boru gelding bounced back to form in no uncertain terms on just his second start for new connections and given that he managed to achieved one of his best career performances on ground that was far from ideal, hopes are high that there could be more improvement to come now he encounters a quicker underfoot surface.
