SEA WOLF (best price 15-2) is 2-2 at today’s track when there’s been considerable give underfoot so, despite the burden of top weight, Ger Lyon’s inmate still makes plenty of appeal. Winner of his first outing at the Co Kildare venue on his opening salvo last season, the Amadeus Wolf gelding has risen 17lb in the interim and that hike was due largely to his victory in the Irish Cambridgeshire towards the backend of the campaign. Always moving smoothly that day, the five-year-old had the race in the bag a long way out and following another smart effort off today’s perch on his first start for 162 days at Naas last time out, he should be spot of for tilt at another one of these big summer pots.

Sheila Lavery is a trainer always worth keeping on side when her horses are flying (went through a similar purple patch last season), so with that in mind, SEVENLEFT (best price 16-1) is also worth playing at his top morning price. Although not a regular over today’s course by any means, he does go well with a bit of ease in the ground and following an eye-catching effort on his seasonal return at Naas when he left the impression he would be a good deal sharper for the run, he looks poised for a positive display.
