COURTNCATCHER (best price 8-1) may be getting a little long in the tooth, but he still retains all his old enthusiasm and seemingly energised after a series of fine placed efforts recently, he looks poised to gain his just rewards for those endeavours at a track that has served him well in the past (previous C&D winner). Fourth in a race which has worked out well subsequently three starts ago at Listowel, Patrick Duffy’s inmate then went on to run to an even higher level next time out at Gowran and with the runner-up that evening, Sir Jack Yeats, advertising the form with a game win here last night, a repeat of that effort alone would surely see him go close in this similar raced tonight. Moreover, the son of Cather In The Rye kept up his recent productivity with another solid performance when third I a strongly-run contest at Roscommon last time out and with form on a variety of surfaces, the 10-year-old should be capable of running his race whatever the conditions throw at him (thunder showers forecast during the day).
