Since arriving at his new Monmouthshire base, Ronald Harris’ charge has form figures at today’s track of 22P1 and with his latest winning performance coming at the main expense of the previously impressive scorer The Geegeez Geegee, there’s every reason to believe he can cope with the similarly progressive Sage Monkey this afternoon. Although most of his best form derived from a sound surface, he has a soft ground win to his name in the point-to-point field, so if the predicted showers do fall at the Midland track here this afternoon, he’s better than most to cope with the likely going change.

WYNFORD (NAP) (best price 15-8) has been yet another one of these big improvers from the Dan Skelton barn so far this summer jumping campaign and following two recent wins at Uttoxeter and Bangor, a third looks a distinct possibility for this progressive four-year-old. Since fitted with a tongue-tie, the son of Dylan Thomas has form figures of 121 and with that only defeat coming at the hands of similarly improving Mizen Master, a forgiving attitude is probably the best stance to take. Either side of that loss, he’s shown a good deal of panache and style in his winning performances and with his time figures also backing up the visual impressions he’s created, the only major worry here today would be a significant going chance to the one at time of writing.
