A modest day’s racing to say the very least, but there is an opportunity to snare a small profit with an each-way double in two races at Wolverhampton. 

The first pick comes in the shape of serial loser DODGY BOB in the 5.45 at Wolverhampton (best price 15-2) and although the win side of the bet is more than likely to bite the dust, there’s a decent chance that the six-year-old will do the honours and hit the frame for the seventh time on the spin. Although he’s raced over seven-furlongs for the last three starts, his form over shorter is just as good and his last attempt over 6f when he chased home Indian Affair here back in January would give him another sound chance of finishing in the money. 

The second part of the bet is SECOND COLLECTION in the 6.45 at Wolverhampton (best price 5-1) and she also appears to have bright prospect of obtaining a podium finish at the very least. Improving with each start – even more so now since connections have invested in the hood – Tony Carroll’s filly first sprang to prominence when finishing strongly to get within half a length of Deconso in a modest class 6 handicap back in January and following another agonising defeat in a similar vein at Lingfield, she finally gained her just rewards on her return to today’s C&D last time out. Seemingly having plenty on her plate with two furlongs to run, the daughter of Delegator produced a power-packed finish to get up close home and with a run style that lends itself to her picking up the pieces late on, hopefully she can repeat the dose over a track that clearly plays into her strengths.
