Our horse racing expert has three tips for you today running at Wetherby and Wolverhampton.
16:15 Wetherby
SECRETE STREAM (best price 12-1) is easily better suited by further than the minimum trip, but that might not necessarily be a bad thing if the ground rides as testing as anticipated and Ruth Jefferson’s gelding is fancied to pick up the pieces at a track where he’s gone extremely well in the past.
Badly in need of the run on his seasonal reappearance at Haydock, when three miles probably stretched him anyway, the son of Fruits Of Love proved a totally different proposition when turning up at the Yorkshire venue for the eighth time in his career and in what turned out to be a strongly-run affair, he proved up for the fight. Staying on strongly in the latter stages, the 11-year-old found the required reserves to get the better of the argument close home and with that victory going on to track stats that now read 21251431, another solid effort looks on the cards.

CAFÉ SYDNEY (best price 9-1) shaped really well on her first outing for 125 days and with the likelihood of some improvement to come, Tony Carroll’s filly can be more of a potent threat than she was at the business end 21 days ago.
A three-time winner on turf during last summer since joining new connections, the daughter of Foxwedge rather lost her way towards the backend of the campaign, so it was nice to see her return to action with a degree more promise on a surface she’d only encountered once previously. In what turned out to be a slowly-run tactical affair at the Dunstall Park track, the four-year-old found herself in an uncompromising position as the tempo finally increased rounding the home turn, but she picked up nicely in the closing stages to finish a never-nearer fourth. Not knocked about in anyway, she also looked like the run would do her good and even though she’s the second string from the stable according to the betting, it wouldn’t come as the biggest shock in the world if she turned out to be the surprise packet of the race, granted a strongly pace. She’s also worth more than a second look in the ‘without the favourite’ market.
