14:15 Lingfield

Not much to go at today with Leicester abandoned, Hexham’s card pretty poor and lots of short-priced favourites at the two all-weather venues but there is one, in the shape of KODIAC HARBOUR (NAP) (best price 5-2), that makes some sort of appeal on a quiet day.

Beginning the season rated in the 80’s Robyn Brisland’s gelding now finds himself on a career-low mark and he almost took advantage of that leniency over today’s C&D last time out. Racing for the second time over the C&D 18 days ago, the son of Kodiac did extremely well to maintain a strong gallop from the start considering how keen he was in chasing a hot pace set by Union Spirit out of the gates, but with the front two well clear and the time figure good, it was still a very good effort under the circumstances. Hopefully today he will give himself a better chance by being a little more amenable to restrain in the first part of the contest and if so, he can finally make the breakthrough for his current connections.
