He did, however, come home with the kind of purpose to suggest he was at least the equal of those who finished ahead of him 42 days ago and with today’s contest looking a similar one on paper, it would be disappointing if this promising three-year-old couldn’t build on all his three runs so far to date.
 

It was very much a case of ‘no room at the inn’ as far as EL C WELLS (best price 4-1) was concerned here last time out and Patrick Martin’s filly is fancied to atone for that luckless passage in this similar heat. 
A no-show in three races on the all-weather, the daughter of Belardo couldn’t be rated a confident choice when making her turf debut here a month ago, but she left the Co Mallow venue with the strong belief brighter times were ahead. Held up towards the rear in a competitive field 26 days ago, the three-year-old was staying on strongest of all when she met traffic problems inside the final furlong and that interference ultimately cost her the race. Going back to the scene of that unfortunate incident, she has escaped without being noticed by the handicapper and even though she has a slightly tricky draw to overcome, she may have enough in hand to offset that negative.
 

WILLYORWON’T (NAP) (best price 11-4) He can count himself a shade unfortunate to bump into a horse completing his hat trick at Doncaster last time out and now returning to a track which saw him run to a fair standard earlier in the campaign, the son of Helmet can gain that elusive success. 

Never a factor when the blindfold was taken off too late at Newmarket, the three-year-old was sent to Town Moor in a bid to atone and if it wasn’t for the progressive Aerion Power providing an irremovable force in the final furlong, he would have gained a deserved breakthrough success. Prior to those solid efforts on turf, he was a big eye-catcher on his only previous start at today’s venue behind the very smart Imperial Sands and a repeat of that level of form should see him hugely competitive on his return visit.
