Our horse racing expert Andy Holding has three tips for today's meetings.
HIGH COMMISSIONER (best price 9-2) was unlucky to bump into a horse who has the potential to developed into a pattern race performer at Windsor last time out, but with nothing of that calibre in today’s field, the five-year-old chestnut has a decent chance of extending his fine all-weather stats.
Although he has run some fine races on the turf, highlighted by his latest run, the son of Australia has undoubtedly a better record on synthetic surfaces and as we witnessed with his victory over the useful Arij at Chelmsford back in March, he’s capable of posting some smart numbers when on song. Whether connections felt it was lack of concentration or not that prevented him from getting the job done at the Berkshire venue last time is a moot point, but either way, the cheekpieces are back on in a bid to focus his full attention and in a race where there is some potential of it becoming tactical, he has a versatility that should be able to cope with whatever comes his way.

Irish Chief didn’t provide his connections with a huge amount of encouragement after his enforced break at Listowel recently, so there’s a decent chance his vulnerability will be tested to the max by OFFIAH (best price 11-4), who just got narrowly touched off at the weekend.
Fourth in big-field, soft ground maiden on his seasonal debut at Cork, Ger Lyons’ inmate was well supported to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking at Limerick two days ago and although he failed in his bid to do so, he still came out of the race with great credit. Setting a reasonable pace from the outset, the son of New Bay couldn’t quite see off the late thrust of the Aidan O’Brien-trained Exuma, but as the pair finished nicely clear of two promising types, the form looks pretty reliable. Nicely drawn here today, a good break and lying handy earlier should turn out to be a good thing - certainly based on the evidence of what happened at the track yesterday – and safe with the knowledge that he has enough qualities to see the 1m1f trip out for the first time, his morning odds are worth excepting.
