With no Andy Holding Racing Tips today, oddschecker have brought in the expertise of our app-exclusive tipster Architect tips to cover today's action.

I strongly suspect this race will provide several future winners and there’s plenty to like about LOVING DASH (best price 9-2) who left her racecourse debut well and truly behind her when chasing home the highly-regarded Deep Snow three weeks ago and has a big chance of going one better for the James Fanshawe team if taking to this surface.

This well-related filly looked badly in need of the experience when well-held on debut, ultimately finishing last of six runners, but looked a completely different proposition when producing a more polished display to get within half-a-length of pattern-class bound Deep Snow last time. The winner might have been giving her chunks of weight but the manner in which she cruised into contention to briefly threaten the Godolphin team-member and battle on gamely under pressure inside the final furlong to narrowly miss out on the spoils by only half-a-length was a courageous effort. Her performance can be upgraded to a further degree, too, given she failed to settle by pulling quite hard and ducked left at the start. This race in particular is, of course, littered with potential improvers, but she meets nothing in the same calibre as Deep Snow on the form available here and with that all-important experience under her belt, this imposing daughter of Lope De Vega will hopefully be able to open her account this afternoon.

This looks a tight contest but I’ll be siding with the top-weight VIRGINIA PLANE (best price 4-1), who drops down in grade following a fairly-decent fourth at Chester last-time-out and can take advantage of her ground preference with Jason Hart back in the plate.

John Quinn’s filly has become very consistent during the past year, or so, in which she’s won twice and finished runner-up three times in five of her last six outings over five-furlongs. She ended last term with victory in a nursery and continued on the upgrade when collared late on at Ripon, where she split horses rated around 77 and was entitled to have needed the run. However, she utilised her assured fitness when going pillar-to-post at Lingfield in which she kicked clear at the furlong pole and looked like winning easily until the other horse she dead-heated with came with a late surge to draw upsides her at the wire. She was then an excellent third under Tom Marquand next time out to that same rival and the runner-up, Dream Composer, advertised the form by subsequently winning twice, as well as placing fourth in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Her latest fourth, at Chester, was a little disappointing but, on the face of it, she was strong in the market for that class-3 event, sent off 11/8 favourite, and was only headed inside the final furlong on ground that wouldn’t have seen her to best effect. That said, today’s forecast soft ground with Jason Hart reunited with the speedy filly could prove to be all the difference and her early gate is a good asset to have, especially around this venue. This won’t be simple trying to give weight to the likes of Sound Reason and Ava Go Joe who are potential improvers but her trainer is operating at an unbelievable 30% strike-rate the last couple of weeks (7-23) and if there’s a chance of seeing her back in the winner’s enclosure this term, it will surely be today, so she’s fancied to take today’s drop down in class in her stride.

He is not a stunning bet by any means and many will know I like taking on a favourite but the Joseph O’Brien-trained BANBRIDGE (best price 6-4) looked a really smart prospect when winning by six-lengths on hurdles debut at Punchestown following a wide-margin bumper victory and is taken to complete the hat-trick in the Ballyleague Rated Novice Hurdle.

He was strong in the market when sent off 2/1 on debut and despite only finishing eighth, he left that form behind him when winning with authority a couple of months later by eight-lengths. A mass field of twenty-five runners then lined up for the Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Maiden Hurdle next time but, again, this son of Doyen was heavily supported in the market and justified favouritism with the minimum of fuss to beat a useful field with plenty to spare. His performance was backed up by a decent time-figure (five-seconds quicker than the race won by Persia over track and trip) despite being short of room on a couple of occasions and today’s step up in trip should unlock further improvement, too. His stablemate, Palm Beach, ran as though something was amiss the last day and can be forgiven, while Buddy Rich gets a chunk of weight from the selection and won nicely when last sighted but that doesn’t diminish the interest in the JJ Slevin-ridden participant and I will take his class to prove decisive.
