This looks an above average novice race with well bred newcomers facing the proven form of both Brasil Power and ALTRAIF (best priced at 2-1). Preference goes to the latter who has contested two strong races so far in his career with both pieces of form working out well. The John & Thady Gosden trained colt finished fourth on his debut at Newmarket behind subsequent Group 2 winner Lusail and impressive maiden winner Noble Truth with Sandown maiden winner Zechariah further back in eighth.
Altraif finished 3rd behind Noble Truth on his next start and the form of that run has also been boosted by the second Ehraz winning an Ascot maiden by 4 ¼ lengths on his next start and the fifth Sweeping winning at Catterick by 2 ¼ lengths on his next start. The George Boughey trained Brasil Power deserves respect having finished 2nd at Doncaster on debut but I feel Altraif will prove hard to beat on his third start.

Martyn Meade is having a fantastic season so far especially with his two-year-olds who are 6-18 showing a +39.13 profit to a £1 level stake and BUOYANT (best priced at 11/10) is expected to improve his impressive 33% strike rate. The son of Awtaad was only beaten ½ length on debut behind subsequent winners Fast Response and El Bodegon where he had Group 3 winner Majestic Glory further back in sixth.
Buoyant improved from his debut effort to finish 2nd behind the impressive Ehraz at Ascot when he proved that he handles good to firm conditions. He faces Ascot runner-up Flying Secret in this race who looks a nice horse going forward but I expect Buoyant to get off the mark at the third attempt with Ryan Moore on board for the first time.

The Chris Wall trained THE THUNDERER (best priced at 2-1) won over this course and distance 28 days ago and should hold strong claims off a 6lb higher mark. The son of Gleneagles has improved since switching to turf handicaps for his new trainer and beat the Sir Mark Prescott trained Jebel Dukhan by a widening 2 ¼ lengths last time. That rival has since boosted the form with a 4 ¾ length win and a neck second and is now rated 10lb higher than when defeated by The Thunderer.
That form boost makes a 6lb rise by the handicapper seem very fair for The Thunderer and I expect the only course and distance winner in the field to prove hard to beat.
