Despite being 0-14 in her career so far, SHE'S A DEVA (best priced at 9-2) makes most appeal in this 0-55 handicap and I expect her to get off the mark at the fifteenth attempt. The Nigel Tinkler trained filly ran well on her only start at this course in April when 3rd off a mark of 48. She runs here off a 3lb lower mark and comes into the race following having achieved a career best RPR in a first-time visor last time at Redcar.

She’s A Deva was only beaten a head at the finish by the Richard Fahey trained Absolute Dream with the pair pulling two lengths clear of the third. The handicapper has raised She’s A Deva 3lb for that effort up to a mark of 48 but she runs here off her old mark of 45 so she is 3lb “well in” and should prove hard to beat from a good draw in the Stall 1.

This maiden fillies’ stakes has the mix of proven form from SERENITY (best priced at EVENS), Pulcheria and White Jasmine meeting the unraced potential of Commandment and Brush Creek but preference goes to the William Haggas trained runner who prove hard to beat if replicating her debut effort. The well bred daughter of Mastercraftsman finished 3rd on her debut at Newmarket despite being slowly away and eventually finished only beaten a length by more experienced rivals.

The William Haggas stable are in fantastic form currently with a 41% strike rate in the last two weeks (14-34) and Serenity, who still holds an Group 1 entry later this season, is expected to enhance that impressive statistic with victory in this race.

The Eric Alston trained BOUDICA BAY (best priced at 3-1) finished 2nd over this course and distance on Tuesday when a selection for us but she can hopefully go one better if getting a better start. The six-year-old won by 1 ½ lengths here in June off a mark of 52 before defying a 6lb rise to win at Haydock in July.

Boudica Bay finished 2nd by a closing ½ length on Tuesday and arguably would have won if she hadn’t suffered an awkward start. Connections have fitted the mare with blinkers on her last four runs which looks to have greatly helped and I expect her to win off the same mark.
