The Fergal O’Brien trained Lord P (best priced at 2/1) has won both of his starts since undergoing a wind operation in July and should prove hard to beat in his hat-trick bid. The four-year-old defied odds of 25/1 to win at Carlisle on his penultimate start off a mark of 60 before winning easily last time off a mark of 67 at Thirsk by 2 ¾ lengths.
Hollie Doyle now takes over from Fern O’Brien on the gelded son of Brazen Beau and he should prove hard to beat off a mark of 74.

Current 1000 Guineas and Oaks favourite Inspiral is a worthy favourite for this race but I much prefer to take a chance on Prosperous Voyage (best priced at 13/2) to cause an upset. The Ralph Beckett trained filly won a 7f maiden race at Epsom on her second start before staying on well to finish 2nd by ½ length at Chester in August when given too much to do.
Prosperous Voyage finished 3rd in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood last month when only beaten 1 ½ lengths at the finish despite not getting a clear run until late on in that contest. She stayed on well that day over 7f, will appreciate the step up to a mile and looks the most likely to capitalise if the favourite underperforms.

Ralph Beckett won this race in 2016 and 2017 with Simple Verse and Alyssa and he should hold strong claims of winning it again with Yesyes (best priced at 5/1). The Juddmonte filly has won 3 out of her 4 career starts and benefitted from the step up in trip to 1m6f last time to win at Chester. The form of that win has been boosted since with the runner-up Dancing King winning a Group 3 at Goodwood beating Nagano when the pair pulled 10 lengths clear of the 3rd.
Yesyes has about a stone to find on ratings with the favourite Free Wind but looks unexposed at this trip and looks sure to be involved in the finish.
15:27 Longchamp
The Andre Fabre trained Zellie (best priced at 10/3) is unlucky not to be 4/4 in her career so far and should be able to get back on track in this Group 3 race. The daughter of Wootton Bassett won on her debut under Hugo Besnier before winning a conditions race at Saint-Cloud and a listed race at Deauville.
Zellie won that listed race easily by three lengths and as a result was sent off 4/5 to win a Group 3 at Deauville last time. She was travelling best of all but was short of room turning in before staying on well to finish 2nd by only 1 ½ lengths. With a clearer run I am sure she would have won that day and as a result I think she will prove hard to beat in this race.
18:00 Chelmsford
Sky Blue Thinking (best priced at 9/4) has won all three starts since joining the Adam West stable and should prove hard to beat under a 6lb penalty. She won over this course and distance on her penultimate start but put in a career best performance last time at Wolverhampton when victorious by 2 ½ lengths off a mark of 60.
The handicapper has raised Sky Blue Thinking 8lb for that win but she instead runs here under a 6lb penalty so is 2lb “well in” at the weights and she should prove hard to beat from Stall 1.
13:30 Chepstow
It is rare for a Denis Coakley trained horse to go off 11/2 on debut but that was the case with My Ambition (best priced at 7/1) at Windsor in July. He was slowly away and never involved that day but improved to finish 4th at Newmarket on his second start in a race which is working out well. The winner Majestic Glory is now rated 100 having won the Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket and the second is rated 94 having finished 2nd in a York nursery on his next start.
My Ambition was once again slowly away and never involved at Windsor last time but as a result has been given a lowly opening handicap mark of 62. The son of Galileo Gold will appreciate the step up in trip to a mile and even a repeat of his second run will see him involved in the finish. George Bass is booked to take off a further 5lb and I expect him to make a winning handicap debut.
