REPRESENTING BOB (NAP) (best price 6-4) has been in splendid form over fences of late, rattling up a quick double, and providing he can translate those recent performances back over hurdles, Jamie Snowden’s gelding is going to be difficult to beat in pursuit of his hat trick. 

Only modest up to now over hurdles, the transformation since switching codes has been nothing short of miraculous and following a big effort on the clock when tearing his opposition to shreds at Stratford a month ago, he duly back up that victory with a similar display at Bangor a few weeks later. Once again, the numbers from the North Wales venue strongly suggested he is running way beyond his current assessments, so the fact that he gets the chance to run here off a 14lb lower mark than he does over fences has to go down as another golden opportunity for him to shine. Moreover, his technique over some of his fences has meant his ability in between the obstacles has rather got him - and his pilot – out of jail, and although the direct correlation between the two codes doesn’t always work out as well as everyone thinks, it would still be disappointing if the in-form five-year-old couldn’t take advantage of the situation presented. 

STREET KID (best price 9-4) clocked a smart speed figure for the grade when beating a competitive field with a bit to spare at Wolverhampton a month ago and providing he can run to a similar level at the first time of asking at today’s different track, the son of Street Cry has a fine chance of following up. 
A little frustrating for new connections since leaving Jessica Harrington, the three-year-old chestnut finally pieced everything together at the Dunstall Park venue last time out and as the overall time figure and sectionals suggested, he’s clearly extremely useful in a well-run environment on the all-weather. Only raised 3lb in the rating despite all the data indicating he’d run to a much higher standard, Kevin Philippart De Foy’s gelding certainly won’t fail here today on account of weights and measures, it’ll be just a case of whether he’s in the same shape as he was 30 days ago and if he acts on the deeper surface. 

GAMIGIN (best price 11-2) has not only run one of the fastest speed figures of today’s field here at this track, but he’s also one of the least exposed among the runners and those positives added to the likelihood of a dropback to the extended 1m2f trip should ensure James McAuley’s gelding easily outruns his morning odds. 

Whether he was brought to a job over hurdles by current connections is anyone’s guess, but after two mildly promising performances in his new discipline, he’s run better than his finishing position has suggested back on the Flat. Fifth, beaten five lengths in a strongly-run 1m4f contest here a month ago, he went as well as anything until not quite getting home and the same scenario unfolded at Navan last time out over two furlongs further when once again he blatantly didn’t get the trip after hitting the front turning for home. Back to a trip tonight which allowed him to land his only victory so far to date at Sligo for Jack Davidson back in August, the son of Dark Angel has strongly credentials than appear at first glance and he’s worth a small interest in what looks a much weaker race than he contested here a month ago.
