The favourite, trained by Evan Williams, may prove tough to beat but LITTLE LIGHT (best price 15-4) scored twice off higher marks last season and has become very well-treated as a result. She didn’t shape at all badly when sixth on her return following a second wind operation and this will be only the second time we will have seen her in this grade. The seven-year-old scored from a fifteen-pound’ higher mark under Bryony Frost last year in a better race than this and ran well on her sole visit to this venue when third behind two horses rated 122 plus. Additionally, she returns here to face opponents rated no higher than 102 and, if able to build on her return from a break, this mare by Walk In The Park looks set to make a bold effort.

There was a lot to like about XCITATIONS (best price 4-1) chase debut second at Huntingdon and having won and placed twice here as a hurdler, Pam Sly’s charge is open to further improvement and may go one better with that experience under his belt. He’s rated four-pounds’ higher than these and is suited to flat tracks, as demonstrated three times here previously. On the bare form of his chase debut behind Millers Bank, this mark of 131 looks well within this improving six-year-olds compass, so he should be thereabouts at a course that plays more to his strengths.
