A decent race for the grade and I’m quite interested in YES INDEED (best price 15-2), a smart hurdler and chase when trained in France, who makes his stable/handicap debut from a potential lenient mark.

It’s fascinating that connections have opted for this contest on stable debut, who was progressive in France in which he was beaten just over 7 lengths when fifth in a Grade 1 at Auteuil in May. He’s from the same family as the top-class Top Notch and could potentially be on a fair opening mark. He will be hard to beat here if that level of form can be transferred to this sphere in the UK being open to further improvement as he’s only a four-year-old up against mostly exposed rivals.

The David Pipe-trained LEONCAVALLO (best price 10-3) has been performing really well in top-end handicaps since joining this yard and ran another huge race to finish second to the high-class Soaring Glory over today’s course-and-distance here three weeks ago. This is a lot easier and the manner in which he’s held his form admirably well in some of the best handicaps around, including when third in the Welsh Champion Hurdle on his penultimate outing on reappearance. This consistent nine-year-old may have found an excellent opportunity to get his head in front.

The other one I like is CABOT CLIFFS (best price 7-1) was a decent juvenile last term and caught the eye when third on return to action at Chepstow last-time-out. His only disappointment was when down the field at the Cheltenham Festival but he’s progressing at a rate of knots and this confirmed front-runner might be able to dictate the pace at a course that should play to his strengths. His fitness will be assured now and, therefore, Dan Skelton’s promising youngster should, at the very least, reach the frame with more to offer.

The form of JATILUWIH’s (best price 7-1) second on chase debut at Worcester last time received a significant boost when the winner of that event, Wishing And Hoping, destroyed a good field at Aintree subsequently. The seven-year-old goes very well fresh and his mark remains lenient judged on his hurdles form. David Maxwells’ three-pound claim is another bonus towards his chances and Philip Hobbs’ has his team in good form, too. The seven-year-old is open to a lot more improvement and can present a major threat to all in this line-up off top-weight.
