I am a little surprised BUSSELTON (best price 7-4) isn’t favourite for the opener in Ireland, who boasts plenty of experience and can make that count with a third success over fences for trainer Joseph O’Brien.

He enjoyed a simple task at Cork last time despite lacking fluency and had earlier defeated The Bosses’ Oscar with plenty of authority and has been performing really well as well in the couple of times he has finished runner-up in addition to his two victories. Indiana Jones ran a promising race to finish second on chase debut but the bottom-weight has the stronger overall form, especially when you bring his hurdles form into the equation and should take some beating with a sufficient round of jumping.

Get My Drift might hold the edge on recent form but it’s significant to see Adrian Heskin travel to Ireland for his only ride of the day - I A CONNECT (best price 9-2), who can make the long journey worthwhile.

Gordon Elliott’s charge has been priced up as if he can’t confirm his superiority over Authorised Art but he looked in full control that day and while the runner-up was having his first start of the campaign, this six-year-old is also open to improvement. He’s won two of his three starts this season and lost little in defeat when splitting two Willie Mullins’ protagonists last time and has yet to finish outside the top-three in all starts and can present a major threat to all in this line-up.
