Smart bumper-performer CONCEROE (best price 11-10), who beat the 131-rated Captain Morgs on debut last year, ran very well on hurdles/seasonal debut to finish third at Kelso following an eight month absence, and connections have found him an excellent opportunity to get off the mark here. The race itself consists of some interesting participants, including hurdle debutant Battle Of Marathon, but the selection has some really strong form within his inventory and the step up in trip should also contribute to his strong claims, alongside Jack Andrew’s valuable five-pound claim.

ASTROMAN (best price 7-1) was second in two maiden hurdles in the spring and his comeback run on the all-weather should have put him spot on for today’s handicap hurdle debut assignment. He pushed the 130+ rated Robin’s Dream to less than a length when last spotted in this sphere so an opening mark of 110 is extremely lenient to say the least. He has an excellent each-way chance with more to offer in this sphere under Jack Quinlan.
