THEME TUNE (best price 15-2) didn’t jump with any real fluency when fourth at Haydock last-time-out but still ran a good race considering it was his seasonal debut and given the winner, Celebre D’Allen, followed-up back there last week, the top-weight is fancied to make an impact in this easier grade. The seven-year-old’s form is mounting up nicely and a repeat of his victory over the 124-rated Ulverston at Carlisle back in February would give him outstanding each-way claims. He’ll find this a lot easier than the last twice and, with his in-form trainer Jonjo O’Neill having his only runner on the card and Jonjo O’Neill Jr having his only ride of the afternoon, this son of Fame And Glory, who has the potential to surpass this current mark over a trip that should suit, has a fair each-way chance despite being burdened with top-weight.

There’s also a really interesting novices’ Chase on the card at Hereford, the Follow AtTheRaces On Twitter Novices' Chase, and I am really surprised Nicky Henderson’s CALL ME LORD (best price 4-1) isn’t trading shorter given his high-class hurdles form. Red Rookie has clear potential but the fact that he’s competing with Call Me Lord off level-weights and is rated ten-pounds lower than Nicky Henderson’s charge makes his task much harder than the odds suggest about him. The former was the best of these over the smaller obstacles and he didn’t shape at all too badly on chase debut despite jumping a little untidy. That run ought to have blown away the cobwebs as it was his reappearance and, being a dual Grade 2-winning hurdler, the nine-year-old looks great each-way value with James Bowen doing the steering, who has his only ride on the card.
