The Lucinda Russell trained READYSTEADYBEAU (best priced at 5/4) got off the mark on his fifth attempt last time at Haydock and the form of that victory is working out well. The six-year-old defeated Carlow Farmer by a length who went on to win by nine lengths on his next start and even the third Ned Tanner who was beaten 27 lengths won at Kelso also won on his next start.

That was the first time that Readysteadybeau had raced over 3 miles so far in his career so he is still unexposed at the trip and actually runs here 5lb “well in” at the weights off a mark of 107. The six-year-old can win this before going up in class next time.

The favourite Grand Turina is 7lb “well in” at the weights here as she escapes a penalty for her New Year’s Eve victory but I am going to take a chance on the Micky Hammond trained GERYVILLE (best priced at 3/1). The six-year-old defied odds of 40/1 to win on his UK debut when he defeated Corran Cross and Gericault Roque (now rated 9lbs higher) by over twelve lengths. That was an impressive performance over 2m3f that day and Alain Cawley just seemed to be slightly worried about the 3-mile trip last time when 2nd here under an exaggerated hold-up ride.

Geryville was beaten 4 ½ lengths that day by Sidi Ismael but that rival has since followed up next time by 3 ¾ lengths and is now rated 17lbs higher. That makes Geryville look extremely well handicapped off a 1lb higher mark and he should hold strong claims of upsetting the eleven-year-old favourite.

Gerryville - 1pt @ 3/1

Milton Harris continues to have a fantastic season and I think that GLOBAL AGREEMENT (best priced at 3/1) holds strong claims of going one better than last time. The five-year-old appeared to benefit from the drop in trip to 2 miles on heavy ground to win at Lingfield on his penultimate start before finishing 2nd by only ½ length at Fontwell last time when back up in trip to 2m3f. The pair pulled 17 lengths clear of the third that day so it looks strong form and the winner Legal Rights went on to win at Hereford on his next start and will probably be rated over 10lbs higher than when they met when reassessed.

Global Agreement runs here off the same mark of 108 which makes him 4lb “well in” at the weights and that should make him extremely hard to beat dropped back down to 2 miles on soft ground.
