A lot in with chances in the opener but I like the look of SILENT NIGHT (best price 25-1), who ran a big race to finish a four-length fourth behind Creative Flair in the Balanchine on the turf here and makes plenty of appeal in this easier grade. The five-year-old mare boasts the strongest form of the entire field at this track and also ran well to finish sixth in another Group 2 here on her penultimate outing, her first appearance for nearly a year too. She’s done all of her racing at this venue and while she hasn’t got her head in front in any of them, she’s ran well each time. Furthermore, all of her last four starts have been in Group 2 events so, although she’s winless on the dirt, this is a lot easier and therefore she could go very well at double-figure digits.

In the finale, MOQTARREB (best price 12-1) looks a good each-way price to make his presence felt at a track that clearly brings out the best in him on the balance of his overall form. Dane O’Neills mount has been in good form this season, winning a listed event before an excellent second over today’s course-and-distance. He ran an eye-catching race to finish fifth behind Real World in the Group 2 Zabeel Mile last time despite being poorly positioned and tackles a lot easier opponents here. The six-year-old gelding by Kingman has faced some really stiff tasks here but has been far from disgraced in all of them and I would actually have him near favourite for this ahead of Valiant Prince if the form-book is anything to go by in this race. I think he’s got outstanding each-way claims at the very least with a bit of luck in-running from a really good slot in stall five.
