The eight-year-old hasn’t won for nearly three years but wasn't disgraced in first-time cheekpieces when fourth at Ludlow last-time-out and has been dropped a further 3Ib too. He placed in some valuable pots at Cheltenham last season off marks in the 130’s and has shaped well in a few runs this season too. With Luca Morgan maintaining the partnership and his mount, who’s having just his second start in class-four company, he looks a really big player in a race that he might be able to dominate.

Evan Williams wastes no time in sending stable debutante AERONISI (best price 7/2) straight over fences who had previously been shaping with a lot of promise over hurdles. His latest third at Taunton was a really smart effort in defeat, where he was just touched off by a couple of horses rated 102 and 106 and the manner in which he rallied in the latter stages indicated that a step up in trip wouldn’t go amiss. He drops into this grade off a workable mark of 96 ahead of his chase debut and, with improvement surely on the cards over this slightly longer trip, Adam Wedge can guide him a first victory under rules and get the better of Wavecrest.
