Well bred newcomers Little Big Bear and Panic Alarm dominate the market for this 6f maiden but I prefer the chances of Forceful Speed (best priced at 5/1) who finished 2nd on his debut here 15 days ago. The Adrian Murray trained colt was sent off 9/2 that day where he led for most of the 5f trip that day before getting headed in the final strides.

The son of New Bay should appreciate this step up in trip to 6f and I am hoping that his racecourse experience can give him an advantage over his rivals.

It will take a brave punter to be taking a short price about High Definition following his runs last season and I much prefer the chances of Layfayette (best priced at 6/1) who made a winning return at Naas last month. The Noel Meade trained five-year-old won the Irish Lincolnshire on his reappearance last season at this course and won again on his reappearance this year in a listed race at Naas last time.

Layfayette stayed on well over the 1m2f trip last time beating 5/4 favourite License by ½ length with the third a further 3 ¾ lengths behind. He is deserving of this step up in class to Group 3 level and hopefully he can use his race-fitness to his advantage over his rivals.

The Philip McBride trained Poker Master (best priced at 9/4) has won his previous three starts and looks worth keeping onside until he is beaten. The five-year-old upset short priced favourite Manucci at Huntingdon in February when winning at 25/1 off a mark of 84 before winning off a 3lb higher mark at Ludlow on his next start.

Poker Master won yet again at Huntingdon last time off a mark of 95 and the handicapper has raised him only 5lbs for that 2 ¼ length victory. He was given a confident ride by Tom Buckley that day and despite his rider now claiming 2lbs less in this race, he should prove hard to beat if showing the same form.
